Workforce Relations provides strategic labour relations advice and expertise to government, the negotiation of collective agreements, contract administration, job evaluation, pension, and benefits administration, public sector compensation coordination, and research and consultative services.

Duties:

The Pension and Benefits Analyst provides research, analysis and recommendations with respect to the design, administration, evaluation, and communication of negotiated and legislated employee pension and benefit plans.

Qualifications:

Essential:

• Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Actuarial Science or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
• Extensive experience with compensation, benefits (Long Term Disability, Employee Health Benefits, Group Insurance) and pension programs.
• Knowledge employment, tax and insurance legislation, and associated regulations.
• Knowledge of pension principles, insured benefits models, and general knowledge of actuarial principles.
• Experience performing research and qualitative and quantitative analysis with the ability to translate data into meaningful recommendations and reports.
• Project management experience, including planning, coordinating and executing projects, managing timelines and deliverables, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities while ensuring accuracy, risk awareness and adherence to established processes.
• Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to develop productive relationships with various stakeholders and clients and work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience preparing and presenting materials to various stakeholders.
• Effective organization, planning and time management skills.
• Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel and strong capacity in leveraging AI tools to enhance analysis, reporting and workflow efficiency.
